Good Afternoon All,


        It was my under standing that Heathkit did not supply Oil with
the kit. The builder had to supply the coolant. Back in the Sixties you
could go to your local Electric Company and the guy's in the line
department would give you a gallon for free. It was after that time that
it was discovered that most of the transformer oil used by power
companies had PCB's. So The only two ways to be sure are. One: have the
oil tested. Two: dispose of it properly, clean out the can and refill
with know good oil.  I have done that with three Loads so far. I am lucky
to work for a High Power Power Supply Manufacture and can get a gallon of
special oil used in High Voltage( up to 50 KV ) output assemblies.
