Hi Gene, You gave me the picture of an IC socket...perhaps shortened serving as a crystal socket. Those are pc board mounted as far as I know. Try soldering it to a piece of pc board - maybe one of those prototype boards - cut a hole in the panel and mount the board behind the panel so the socket fills that hole. 73, Bill KU8H
