Hi,

Homebrewed equipment is not necessarily cheaper. I rolled a crystal
controlled 2 meter mobile fm transceiver and the cost of the crystals
for five frequencies alone cost more than a good used synthesized ham
rig with 25 watts. Mine runs only 5 watts. All the rest of it came
from junk and scraps. It looks plain. Its limited to 5 channels. Its
limited to 5 watts. It works. Its *mine*.
