Hello-
Getting ready to build a series of VHF amplifiers and recently placed a sizable order with McMaster-Carr, mostly for teflon parts, hardware, and small tools. I did order 3 of 1/2" alum. angles x 8' long, 2 of 3/4" alum. angles x 8', 2 of 1/4" x 8' brass rods, while I was at it, and I requested in writing that they pack all of the 8' pieces in one mailing tube, and could even cut them in half if need be to save on shipping costs. Here is what they did with the 8' stuff : They sent the 3 of 1/2" angles in one 3" x 8' mailing tube, the 2 of 3/4" angles in another, and the 2 brass rods in another!! My shipping costs went out the roof. I talked to the shipping manager and they would not make it right, I was told that they shipped items as they pleased and gave no consideration to the customer. This was out of the Atlanta office. I really could not get over the way I was treated there. I thought I would warn others, don't expect reasonable shipping considerations with these you know whats in Atlanta.
