I guess I might as well say "hi" now, too.

I am one of the lurkers on the list, trying to learn from the
experiences of others. I haven't the time to commit to building
any projects yet, but I plan to eventually.

Someday, I plan to build a DSP based unit, as my background
is in embedded digital design and programming. However, I am
weak on the RF. Heh, well, I do an ok job of *suppressing* it
in my designs where I don't want it, and reducing susceptibility,
but have not yet acquired the understanding of harnessing it
productively.

In the meantime, I am starting at the periphery and working in.
Looking to build an antenna for my attic in the near future to
hook up to my HT. (I am rather space constrained, and have no
place to put a full rig.) So, I am trying to wrap my mind around
matching a homebuilt antenna to the 50ohm output of the handheld.

So, I generally read books and listen to what others have to say.
Two ears, one mouth, used in that ratio.

Cheers,
Bill
