Mouse stocks some NTC thermistors for inrush control, but the smallest
current limit size I see listed is for 1.1 amps. (Mouser part # 527-CL140,
$2.04 each)

 Hard to say what the surge current of the microwave supply rect diodes
will handle, maybe they'd take the amp.

I remeber seeing schematics for high power linear amp supplies which put a
resistor in series with the primary side of the transformer for inrush
protection. After a second to two, a relay cuts in a shorts out the resistor.

Remeber to keep one hand in your pocket when working on this stuff!
