[HomeBrew] UHF SWR meters

Hello homebrew,

Can anyone direct me to a simple SWR meter project that works well at
440MHz? The 3-4 meters I have now are no good above 2m frequencies
(some maybe not even that high).
I just had an idea the other day. I have some 1/2" hardline and was
considering cutting strips out of either side of the shield of a short
piece to make a directional sensor. Any thoughts about this idea?
