[HomeBrew] Homebrew Think Tank

Well, I can share a couple of projects I'm currently working on.

The first is a IF switch box to select one of 4 transverters for my VHF
contest Rover setup. I currently have transverters for 222Mhz and 432Mhz
that use a common IF rig, my Icom 746. So I need a convenient way to switch
between them. There are more elaborate ways to do it, but I'm going to
build a switch using a switch box designed to switch one computer to 4
printers. This is basically a 25 pole, 4 throw, switch that I will be
changing out the db25 connectors for bnc and RCA jacks. I have most of the
parts ready, just waiting for some of the connectors to come in the mail so
I can get out the drill and soldering iron:-)

Another project that has, finally, reached the gathering parts stage is a HF
tube type amplifier. I've been interested in this for years and have been
doing some research and learning for the last couple of years to prepare. I
recently scraped out a couple of microwave ovens for parts, and hope to use
the power transformers. Right now I'm leaning toward building around a pair
of GI7B's. Or maybe a single GS35, although I don't think the microwave
transformers would have enough suds for the GS35.

Oh yeah, I'm also building a 30amp, 13.8vdc power supply, but that has kind
of taken a back burner for now...
