Close. I have a circuit at home that uses a 24 volt filament transformer. The oscillator works from the center tap to ground and the output is taken from the entire secondary (24 VAC). The primary is not used. I would add an adjustable voltage regulator to improve filtering and stability. Around $3 at Radio Shack.

So if I'm on the same page here...

What one needs to do is oscillate the 12vdc to either
12 or 6vac at around 50-60 Hz, then feed it into the
secondary of the filament xfmr, then take the result
from the primary and regulate/rectify/filter that.

Correct ?

Can an oscillator be found that has the current capacity
to drive the transformer and produce a sufficient amperage
in the conditioned output ? Where ?!

The only other suggestion I would have would be to locate
a 12VDC operable Laptop and use THAT mobile. Less hassle.
