I have an SWR meter and I can't believe I can't fix it. There is nothing in
it. Two diodes, replaced them (with silicone signal diodes) did not fix it.
(Are these supposed to be germanium?) Let's say your real swr is 1.7 - this
thing shows 7 or 8 to 1. Similar results after the diode swap (not sure of
the actual measurement but it sure didn't fix it). It doesn't have any
laminations that I can find cracked and I resoldered all the connections.
It is the old 4 1/2 inch Drake style meter. I am about to give in to the
meter itself being bad but am still stuck with the idea that a lot of other
problems get blamed on "bad meter" and it is usually something else.
