Yep,
I removed one from a 1500 watt microwave oven, it was not a comfortable
system however. The description is this the transformer
is right around 1800 volt ac on the secondary, you will need to get
4 of the microwave diodes used as a full wave bridge. the transformer
was mounted on high density lexan Orange color. The plate-form was
lifted above the chassis by 4 1 inch diameter 4 inch tall ceramic
insulators. The transformer starting cap was also mounted on the platform. I
then used 10 - 3900uF 450 caps in series with 470K
2 watt resistors across each cap. total capacity 390 uF at 4500 VDC.
The load resistor was 160K that is two (2) 80K 200 watt resistors
in series. The DC output volts were 2300 dropping to 2150 under a
400 MA load to a pair of 4CX250B tubes in the RF module from a
KWT-6. The high voltage supply ran for about 3 years in RTTY use.
I enclosed the whole thing in Orange lexan, and put it in an Emcor
desktop cabinet, with controls and meters on a 8 3/4 inch panel, with
fuses and main circuit breaker mounted to a 1 3/4 inch panel above it.
Worked fine. Go for it.
