Ocean State Electronics sells an IC that is a complete FM stereo exciter... I 
think it is a BA1404 and is marketed by Philmore.  Data sheets are available 
from Ocean State, and I think I have them here too.

The FM Stereo transmitter by Radio Shack is not a particularly good 
performer.  Another source for a ready made unit (or a kit) would be the 
various Ramsey mono and stereo FM transmitters.

A trick I use here is to use an old "baby monitor" system as a low-fidelity 
wireless extender for listening to signals heard in the shack while out in 
the yard.
