[HIham] Mobile Electronics Legislation for 2013

There are two bills in the State Legislature intending to regulate the 
use of mobile electronics while driving.

House Bill 980 and Senate Bill 1211 if passed would supersede the 
current county regulations.

There are exemptions for amateur radio operators and Private Land Mobile 
radio users.  These bills would override restrictions in the use of Land 
Mobile radios in Kauai and Maui counties.  Amateur radio operators are 
encouraged to submit testimony in support of the exemption for amateur 
radio.
