This report covers mid-October to late November. Please make sure your ARRL affiliated club has current information at ARRL headquarters. If your group is not ARRL affiliated please consider affiliating. If you don’t have the information let me know also any corrections. (Bob)
We are sad to report that Doris Carlson, KH6ER, passed away the night of November 23. Your SM and his wife had just visited her at the life care center that evening. Both she and her husband Wilber Carlson, KH7E, are longtime members of BIARC.
Kid’s day will be January 7, 2012. Last year Lloyd Cabral, KH6LC, made 125 contacts and will be hosting local kids again and also running streaming live video. Check out the website www.kh6lc.com. Let’s hope more Hawaii Stations get on the air this coming year. The article appears on page 91 of December 2011 QST.
I (Wayne) would like to have 6-8 more people for the parade on Dec 1, starting assembly at 5:00, on the street by 6:00, and finish by about 6:30 if things go smoothly. Please e-mail or call!
Aloha, Wayne, NH6K

Lee Wical, KH6BZF, wanted to make sure it was understood there is no connection between the HARC and the testing session even though testing is at the same place and occurs just before the HARC meeting.
Again here is the announcement:
There will be one more exam session in 2011. It will be on Saturday November 19th. There will be no exam session in December 2011 due to the Holidays. Both FCC commercial exams will be given if you pre-register between 9AM and 9PM with a deadline NLT 9PM the Thursday prior to session. MOPA (Commercial Element One), GROL (Element One and Two) and Radar Endorsement (Element 8) may be taken back to back but PRE-REGISTRATION is a must. This is to insure enough certified exam proctors are available. Procedures and examinee’s requirements will be explained. All Amateur Class licenses will be offered on the same dates but in different exam groups. Pre-registration is a must between 9AM and 9PM by phoning 247-0587. Two I.D.’s are required to be brought to the session. One picture ID and one ID with your Social security number. Two number 2 pencils, one black ballpoint pen and a pocket calculator may be brought. Each FCC Amateur Element taken will be $15.00 cash, no checks, no credit or debit cards as I am not a bank. Neighbor Islanders are welcome, but must pre-register. For questions call Oahu 1-808-247-0587. Good Luck on your studies. Any questions? Lee Wical, KH6BZF.
