[HIham] Ham radio operations on Kalaupapa many years ago - any information?

As most of you know, the Kalaupapa peninsula on Molokai is where Hawaii
residents and others afflicted with leprosy (today called Hansen's
disease) were exiled. This peninsula is now Kalaupapa National
Historical Park. Some of the former patients still live there.

The National Park Service staff just recently learned that there used to
be active ham radio operators on Kalaupapa many years ago. Several Oahu
hams have been working with the NPS staff to learn about these hams and
their radio operations. However, most of this information has been lost
as these hams passed away years ago. Any information that can be found
will be documented and added to the history of Kalaupapa as part of life
there many years ago.

We have identified one ham, Bill Kupele, KH6BWG who was active in 1957
(and possibly before and after that) and have 2 other possible names:
Ed Bell and Albert Hilongo (no call signs for either).

Does anyone have any other information, call signs for either of these,
or other names/call signs of other hams who used to live in Kalaupapa?

Also, if you have any QSL cards from any of the former Kalaupapa hams,
we would appreciate a copy of them.

Any other information on ham radio operations in Kalaupapa by residents,
or suggestions on where to search for this info would be appreciated.

Thanks for your assistance.
