I am forwarding a message from Warren Munro, KH6WNM. It pertains to
Hazardous waste disposal, which was a subject of discussion in the last SM
report. This is mainly for Oahu Hams. If anyone knows the schedules for
other islands please let it be known. If you send it to me, I will give it
wide dissemination. Thanks again Warren!

Bob:

The schedule of the semi-annual hazardous waste drop-off (free for household
quantities) run by the City & County here on Oahu is widely publicized
through periodic full-page ads in the Honolulu newspaper.

The next one is scheduled for Saturday December 18. One needs to call at
least a week ahead to itemize what will be brought in (and to dispose of
non-hazardous items separately).

We have had to get rid of quite a lot of old hazardous household and yard
products from a neighbor's estate, and have more to go on December 18.

The contact person for the Oahu hazardous drop-off is Chris phone 768-3201.
He is very helpful, and the drop-off is well-organized and efficient.
