Hawaii Hams,

I expect the ISS to be in UHF/VHF crossband repeater mode tonight.
There are two low ascending passes, a nine degree pass to the east
starting at 8:50:16 pm (it's supposed to be visible), and a 24 degree
pass to the west starting at 10:24:33 pm. (The times are for Honolulu,
your time may vary). The operations may be in effect until Dec 5.

The uplink frequency is 437.80, and the downlink is 145.80. Both are
FM, and expect quite a bit of doppler on the UHF side, which is three
times as much as on the VHF side. You will see doppler shifts of about
3 kHz on VHF, so you can expect to use 9 kHz of doppler to get into the
UHF receiver. It's best to program five successive memory channels with
the right split, if you are not running radios that are designed for
this kind of work.

If you want more information on space communications operations, check
out the articles on this page, especially the second article.
