The next Ko`olau Amateur Radio Club meeting will be
Saturday, June 9th at 9:30 AM at Ho`omaluhia Botanical Gardens in
Kaneohe. (See URL to meeting site below.)
Everyone is welcome.
Major agenda item is planning for Field Day, June 23-24th.
Field Day will be a cooperative effort between KARC and EARC
(Emergency Amateur Radio Club).
Our Field Day activities encompass more than the actual day of Field Day.
Plans so far:
Thursday, June 21st: Beginning late morning, load equipment from
several sites and transport to Kualoa Park in the afternoon.
Set up individual campsites for those staying overnight and one
big tent for food, equipment etc.
Friday, June 22nd: Beginning at 8:00 AM, set up tents, stations and antennas
Saturday, June 23rd: Begin Field Day station operations at 8:00 AM.
Sunday, June 24th: 8:00 AM cease station operations and pack up.
Needed:
Volunteers (lots) for all of the activities from set-up, to operating
the stations, to cooking food, to clean-up on Sunday. Even if you
only have part of a day, every bit of help is appreciated. "Many
hands make light work."
Vehicles to transport equipment on Thursday and Sunday.
Please let us know now how you can help so plans can be solidified at
Saturday's meeting.
Everyone is welcome to both the KARC meeting and to all of our Field
Day activities.
Help with the planning.
Operate one of the stations.
Introduce a friend to ham radio.
Or, come to chat with old friends.
More information to come after Saturday's planning meeting.
