Subject: tower available, good for open spaces (Neighbor Islands ?)
Hi guys:
PLEASE PASS THIS TO ANYONE WHO MAY USE THE INFO, also please post on any
club reflectors, thanks.
There is a 47 foot Aermotor tower here in Honolulu up for grabs (SK about 10
years ago and the family is looking for new home). I can'r find a taker on
Oahu.
It is heavy-duty, three legged windmill-tower style, bolted together angle
iron, plenty husky for ham beams etc (has a top plate for rotator), appears
good condx. It was assembled and built from the ground up by the SK and his
family quite a few years ago.
Since it is bolted together, if dissambled and packed together, it should
ship cheaply to any other island, especially compared to lattice-type towers
which cost as much to ship as to buy...
Not sure if the bolts are stuck, and the family is to put some wrenches on
them this weekend and report back to me. Also there is a mango tree that
needs to be cut back severely before the tower can come down (note, very
small yard, very close neighbors).
Lloyd KH6LC is familiar with Aermotor towers but says this one is too short
for his situation.
Anyone interested, please contact me by e-mail or phone 808-487-1863.
73,
Warren KH6WM
