[HIham] FW: USS Missouri Commemoration, Sept 2

BMARC Members and Friends:

Missouri will be holding a ceremony commemorating the 61st anniversary 
of the end of World War II on Saturday September 2, 2006, from 8:45 to 
9:45 AM on the ship.  The date and time is chosen to coincide with the 
signing of the Instrument of Surrender  on board the ship in Tokyo Bay 
in 1945 (although if you are a nit-picker, that is Tokyo time, and the 
corresponding local Hawaii time would be September 1 at 2 PM).

Anyway, the public is invited and of course that means all BMARC members 
and friends.  There will be several speakers, color guard, military 
salute, etc.

If there's enough interest we might arrange to have KH6BB on the air for 
the rest of the day and publicize it.  Any indication of your intention 
would be helpful.
