Folks,
I encourage all amateur radio operators to take at least the basic
emergency communications course offered by the ARRL. It is on-line and
you have a mentor (via e-mail). The United Technologies Corporation
(UTC) grant will reimburse you once you have passed. This is a
different grant from before and is very limited. Most people who
hesitate in registering will not get in. If you plan on taking the
course, please register on-line at the ARRL web site
(http://www.arrl.org). Do your research and form filling ahead of time
and click the final registration button at precisely 6:01PM on Sunday,
July 3, 2005. Please read below and Good Luck!
Kevin, AH6QO

Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Course Registration

Registration for the ARRL Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Level I
on-line course (EC-001) opens Monday, July 4, at 12:01 AM EDT and will
remain open until all available seats have been filled or through the
July 9-10 weekend--whichever comes first. Class begins Friday, July 22.

Thanks to the United Technologies Corporation (UTC), the $45
registration fee paid upon enrollment will be reimbursed to students who
complete the course requirements and are upgraded by their mentor to
"Passed" within the 8-week course period. During this registration
period, seats are being offered to ARRL members on a first-come,
first-served basis.
