The 15th annual Leeward Community College Family Fun & Craft Fair will
be held on Saturday, October 30th, from 9 am to 2 pm. This event
features games, food, crafts, entertainment, and interactive
educational activities.

Last year, one of educational activities was an amateur radio
demonstration. It turned out rather successfully, with about a dozen
hams coming down for part or all of the event, and with a number of
attendees showing great interest at our display. Participants brought
enough equipment to set up several stations, and we were able to
demonstrate HF, VHF/UHF, IRLP, and Morse code.

This year, the committee in charge of the educational activities has
asked me to see if there is interest in the ham radio community to do
this again. I'm looking for hams willing to come down and spend a few
hours talking to the public and conducting demonstrations. I'm also
looking for equipment, ideas, and display materials. We'll have
tables, chairs, electricity, and a covered area to work in.

If anyone is willing to participate in this activity, or has any
questions, please contact me at the e-mail address shown in the
signature file below, or call me at my office at 455-0682.
