Once the original info was sent out and awareness was gained, I limited =
my mailings to hamradiohawaii and hiham. Still, I got a half dozen =
e-mails saying the person wasn't getting it because they didn't know =
about the two, they only knew club reflectors. I had to educate them. =
Then I got a load of email from those who tell me to send out stuff for =
them, but they won't subscribe to those two groups. Then I received =
email from those that hate all reflectors and want me to send mail =
directly to them. =20

At this point, I will continue to send out on just the two reflectors: =
hamradiohawaii and hiham. I'm sorry, but if this is not convenient, =
please make arrangements with friends to cover for you. =20

For my part, I have no problem getting four emails that have the same =
subject line, picking one, and ignoring the rest.=20

I must agree with Jeff here, it's also a waste of internet, mail=20
  server and personal resources.

Cross posting to "all" the groups/lists/reflectors results in some=20
people tuning out of the lists and messages because the signal to=20
noise ratio is so high. It's been so bad that I've long since set my=20
Yahoo Groups preferences for this and other groups to "No e-mail" so=20
I don't have to wade through duplicate messages every evening in my=20
  personal inbox.

The end result is, some people don't get information in a timely=20
fashion because they have to actively review the messages on the web.=20
It also causes some to filter incoming e-mail from senders who=20
repeatedly crosspost to many lists or when messages have to many To:=20
addresses at one time. I know many people simply don't have the time=20
to read through four copies of an e-mail to make sure they're all=20
duplicates of the same message. Often, they delete them in mass=20
quantities in an attempt to catch up.

If everyone subscribes and utilizes specific e-mail lists for=20
specific purposes, e-mail distribution of information would become=20
much more efficient. As far as redundancy, keep in mind that two of=20
these lists reside on the very same Yahoo Groups service. If Yahoo=20
  fails (or fails to deliver)...
