[HIham] Waipahu ham classes - status report

To all in the Oahu ham radio community:

The registration period for this term's classes produced more interest, more
phone calls and more sign-ups than last term (September 2003).  However the
actual class registration was still below the school minimum, and therefore
no classes will be held this term.

I have discussed the enrollment situation with the school folks, and they
say that in the past, it has sometimes taken several terms listing a class
(and not getting enough sign-ups) before a class makes it off the ground,
but in such cases, the class will likely hold its own from then on.

So I will try again in the Fall listing both Tech prep (intro) and General
prep (intermediate) classes.  Anyone interested please call me 487-1863 or
keep their eyes peeled for the half-page Adult Education ads which will
appear several times in both daily newspapers around September 1.

I am also looking for any ideas for wider marketing of these classes, and
any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks to all who offered to help and to those who have already helped by
spreading the word.
