The Ham swap meet was a TREMENDOUS SUCCESS !!!
Paid attendance was 120, a large amount of equipment changed hands for very
reasonable prices, displays were set up by OCDA, SkyWarn and EARC/ARRL, many
door prizes were distributed to lucky folks, and many old and new personal
contacts were renewed and established. Also, Kevin Bogan (Pacific Section
SM) was able to bring everyone up to speed on antenna legislation pending in
the State legislation and what needs to be done ASAP.
Thanks to all who attended and all who helped out, especially KARC (Walt
AH6OZ), EARC (Kevin AH6QO), Dr. Leslie Munro (check-in/cashier) and
co-chairman Jim NH6YF.
The site was excellent for an all-Oahu event and the parking lot was almost
completely full. We have established excellent relations with the school
staff for future events, particularly with the principal whose uncle is
"Uncle Ham", Isamu Kaneshiro in Hilo (pre-WW II call K6SNP when K6 meant
Hawaiian Islands, current call AH6HB).
Thanks again for all the interest and help. Please contact me directly at
[email protected] for any further information.
Let's all plan for another Ham swap meet in April 2005 !!!
