Excuse me folks. Since I know Kevin will be gone to the ham swap fest by
now, I will go ahead and put in this correction and inform Kevin:
The Room number for the HEARING is Room 016, which is in the Capitol
basement at the Diamond Head Makai inner corner.
The Committee office of Senater Menor, where you DELIVER TESTIMONY is
correct as Room 219, second floor makai side.
There is also a drive-by testimony drop box in the underground parking area
circle near the basement door with the security guard; make sure you use the
SENATE box.)
Testimony which they must copy for you which arrives on Monday should make
it into the Senator's packets to be read prior to the hearing. Later
testimony will always be accepted, and can even be brought directly to the
hearing. If you turn it in late or bring it to the hearing, it is best to
provide the 25 copies yourself as they might be too busy to copy it in time.
If you have any questions, you can always call the Committee on Commerce,
Consumer Protection and Housing at 586-6740.
There are some public parking stalls in the Capitol basement (not a lot);
entry is off Punchbowl at Miller Street, just opposite the Queen's Medical
Center Emergency Room. (These can fill up.) You need quarters.
There are also metered stalls in the parking lot in front of the Health
Department Bldg (Kinau Hale) at the corner of Punchbowl and Beretania.
(entry off Punchbowl, at ewa/mauka corner).
Parking in Alii Tower is at City rates (cheap); entry off Alakea, diamond
head side between King and Hotel, just mauka of former Yong Sing restaurant
and Fisher office supply.
Also meters (but these fill up by 8:30) at the park behind St. Andrew's
cathedral, and in city lot at corner of Pali and Beretania.
Metered parking at corner of King and Punchbowl, opposite State Library.
Capitol is at 415 Beretania Street, between Punchbowl and Richards Streets.
It's recommended to thank the chair, vice-chair, and staff for scheduling
the bill for hearing.
Now I am late for the ham swap fest. I will check reflector e-mail late
tonight and tomorrow morning, around my week-end activities.
