Subject: Copying messages during emergency communications

Emergency Communications leaders,

You might find the following note to be of interest and thought when you are
confronted with problems exchanging messages during emergencies.

Even though the Radiogram format is slow when spoken, it still
yields a timely, accurate message if all you had was voice or
morse code communications when standard commercial communications
fails and advanced forms of emergency communications such as
packet radio and PSK31 are unavailable.

The information in the ARRL ARECC course is valid --
that functional knowledge of NTS traffic handling is a powerful
skill that does not grow obsolete.
