Apologies in advance for multiple copies of this message.
I have further details about amateur radio support of the Honolulu
Festivals parade on Sunday, March 16 in Waikiki.
Assignments will be made by the Nelson Fujio, the parade coordinator,
based on the number of operators we can provide. Those of us who do not
speak Japanese will be teamed with a translator. We will likely be
assigned to positions along the parade route. Please let me know if you
don't need a translator.
Nelson has asked that we meet at the pier where the floats are assembled
at 2:45 pm on the day of the parade. The parade starts around 5 pm, and
will last for several hours.
I need to get orders for T-shirts in as soon as possible, so even if
you're only thinking of participating in this event, please let me know
your shirt size by tomorrow, Friday March 6. Otherwise, there is no
guarantee that you will be able to get an event T-shirt.
Nelson will be holding a briefing on Wednesday evening, March 12 at 5:30
pm at the pier. This meeting is primarily intended for the leaders of
the various groups who will be participating in this effort. But if you
are interested in attending, please let me know as soon as possible, as
dinner will be provided and I have to call in with a head count.
I can be reached by e-mail at [email protected], or by phone at
455-0682.
