The Koolau Amateur Radio Club had an outing at Kuuloa Beach Park.
 Although it was running
1A, there was a separate tent that two other operators ran a separate
station.

I ran the 80 meter band during the night hours starting Saturday
evening. First real 80m operations,
and the first under emergency comm conditions.

Managed to get 58 contacts on 100 watts into 80m on a Van Gorden
full-wave length 80 meter
antenna with balanced feedlineup 15 feet. Most of the sections west of
the Rockies came through,
and ran into varying classes from 12A to 6F. Also, managed to snag Indiana.

The VE7 in Victoria, British Columbia gave me a S7 to S9. My LAX
contact was
a 5 Watt station that was beginning to fade with the oncoming daylight
there.

Overall, an interesting and very enjoyable night operations.
