[HIham] Oahu Event -- Parade in Waikiki, Sunday Evening June 8.

It appears that the Pan-Pacific Festival Parade will be held on Sunday 
afternoon, June 8th.  I'm afraid I don't know any more than I did a week 
ago, when this first came to my attention.  I've had some difficulty 
getting in touch with the parade coordinator, although I have to admit 
that, being freakishly busy at work lately, I haven't tried that hard.

I'm going to go ahead and ask that anyone who is willing to participate 
in this event, by providing communications assistance along the parade 
route, please contact me.  I will act as the coordinator of amateur 
radio operators for this event.

Personally, I find that events like this are excellent short-duration 
training opportunities for emergency communicators, that allow you test 
your equipment and to practice operating in the field under moderately 
challenging conditions.
