When the ASST SM, is speaking during the INFORMAL, end of meeting, time when
each Member introduces himself and says a few words; it it unfortunate for
ARRL when their representative thinks that his presence demands sudden
formality.

The HARC will remain adequately informed in any case since most HARC Members
are members of ARRL. Furthermore, since the temper display was provoked by
the ASM demanding that everyone agree with his opinion that the effort
expended on HR 4720 was "NOT FUTILE" when everyone else in attendance
understood that a House Bill introduced late in the session with no
companion Senate Bill IS IN FACT FUTILE and any contrary claims make no
sense.

Anyone who does not like the conduct of the HARC Meeting, including the
informal period when every member stands and says a few words, is welcome to
not attend. Since the temper tantrum was during an informal period, with
no chair and no expectation of silence from the members, no apology is
warranted. No other person has had a similar problem so I think the
absence of the current ASM may be the solution. Since the SM is a member of
the HARC, I'm sure our members will continue to be well informed.

Since this Email is so widely distributed, all those well behaved readers
are invited to attend any HARC Meeting. The next is 0900 the 3rd Saturday,
September 21, ZIPPYS at the intersection of Vineyard and Maunakea in
Honolulu. Breakfast and INFORMAL meeting. NO SPEECHES.
