 From Bob Schneider, AH6J

Hi,

I just got a phone call from AH6JR , Stan in Kona (808-325-1919) . He
said that he just completed a contact with KH2/NH7C (Sid) in Guam on
28.490 Mhz a little while ago . When I looked up NH7C, his name is
Steven Caesar from Rockville, MD.

Apparently they just got an antenna up and were working on more (It is
4PM tomorrow in Guam ) . They are to meet again at 2200Z (noon H ST )
on the same frequency. There is supposed to be WH6BXK (Jason from Maui)
on scene too. When asked what they need, they said they need Christmas
toys for the kids. The ir report is that the island is in bad shape
just as the news reports have said.

I will see if I can find out any more information. It seems apparent
that NH7C and AH6JR must have traveled to Guam. I have heard nothing
from any residents yet.

73, Bob, AH6J

Note from AH6RH: ARRL.ORG had posted this news items.

Last week, three amateurs affiliated with the US Department of Health
and Human Services Office of Emergency Response flew to Guam, according
to Steve "Sid" Caesar, NH7C, the team's communications officer. Others
on that team were to include Satoshi Manabe, WH6CTO, and Jayson Kohama,
WH6BXK. "We're very active here with distaster relief and have two sites
operational on HF," Caesar said.

I believe DMAT-1 went to Guam.
