[High-Speed-CW] Increasing CW speed

Hi Bill,
Back when I was a young Sgt. learning to handle
high speed CW in the Army, I passed 20 WPM
during my first day of training, of course I had been
a ham (mostly CW) for 2 years. They took me aside and asked who I would be
working with, then suggested
I learn to copy in my head. The method was helpful
then and I still use it to teach other interested folks.
Instead of listening to music, while doing other tasks,
listen to CW at high speeds, after a little while you
will notice that you are chuckling at a comment made
by someone in the qso, and when you realize that you
are indeed copying in your head, it just keeps getting
better, usually takes about two 0 three weeks of doing
it that way.
The sending side is a little different, as sometimes you find
you are using different keying devices, but once you get
the hang of adapting to different keys you are there.
YMMV
Jim
