As I understand it, the 3KA was a government / military / embassy
oriented rig, and the one I saw doesn't even have bands on the dial,
only frequency ranges.
I cannot believe the plate choke would be resonant anywhere under 30mhz
on these. I routinely use my 2K, 2KX, 3KX on those bands with no problem.
The only issue is the tuned inputs might be a little less than ideal,
but not a problem. You can use an auto tuner to tweak it if you want,
but you probably don't even need to bother with that. I use 15m band
setting for 17m, the 10m band setting for 12m. On the 3Ka, you just
look at the manual and see what frequency ranges are supported for the
various bandswitch settings.
