John,
Make sure you are not at the wrong peak on either the LOAD cap or the PLATE roller inductor.
The first day I had my 3KP I became quite concerned when the amp appeared to have quite poor efficiency. Come to find out I was on the wrong peak of the PLATE tuning. Once I found the proper peak point, the amp came alive and started to perform as expected.
I sold the amp awhile back, so I can't tell you my tuning numbers. But just start by driving it with only 10w or so, then tune the PLATE control thru its range and find the best peak.

I bought a used 3K Premier about 3 years ago and have been very happy
with it so far.
Recently we've started having occasional openings on 10 meters, and I've
discovered that my amp runs out of tuning range on 10. The roller
inductor is all the way at minimum inductance and I'm not able to tell
if the plate current is totally dipped because I never get to the point
where it dips and then starts increasing again. I must be very close
because I have good power output.
This happens even at the very bottom of the band, so it can only be
worse at higher frequencies. Has anyone else seen this and is there a
known solution? Thanks!

John, K9MM
