[Henry] WTB: 3K Premier or ??

I've been using a homebrew 4-1000 amp which I built in 1969 for 38
years. It has a number of shortcomings, so I've been looking around for
a beefy, well built commercial amp to replace it.

One feature which I consider absolutely necessary is quick warm-up. Once
you get beyond the "pair of 3-500" class of amps, virtually everything
currently being sold uses tubes which require a 2-3 minute warm-up
period. The only tube I've found in the desired plate dissipation range
which is quick warm-up is the 3CX1200 series. Are there any others?

The only amp I know of presently being manufactured with the 3CX1200 is
the Ameritron AL-1200. But the AL-1200 doesn't pass the "beefy, well
built" test. The plate transformer in my 4-1000 amp weighs more than a
complete AL-1200.

This brings me to the conclusion that I should be looking for a used
Henry console amp using the 3CX1200. My choices appear to be the 3K
Classic X Mk. II, the 3K Premier, and the 5K Classic. Are there any
design or reliability issues with any of these models?

If anyone has one of these models that is for sale, or knows of one that
is for sale, please contact me. Thanks!

John, K9MM
