I need a variable loading capacitor for the SB-200 under restoration.  My
existing cap shows signs of arcing and in researching this issue in the
service bulletins, yes a common problem.  Heath's engineering solution was
to replace the capacitor with a different variable cap, one with larger
plates and increased spacing.  The new replacement part number is 76-160.

Original defective cap part number was 76-97.  Heath replaced the capacitor
free of charge to anyone experiencing the arcing issue.

 

Would you be so kind to run a "wanted" ad for me to see if someone may have
the cap or a parts unit with one?  Certainly, the Heath reflector and also
the Amps reflector if you are a member, are suggested lists.  Direct any
response to my email.

Heath SB-200 loading capacitor wanted.  Heath part number 76-160 will be
metal stamped in the capacitor end plate.  If you have this capacitor or an
SB-200 parts unit with one installed, please contact me:
