[Heathkit] Looking for a Power Transformer for a Heathkit FM+4

I’ve used back to back transformers several times. Usually a cost effective method, but you have two transformers with the associated losses. Not great but may need to be accounted for. I’ve used 12.6VAC secondaries with center taps and that gives 6.3V for filaments. Balance at low power levels doesn’t seem to be an issue. Been running an HRO with that kind of a supply for many years. 

You might also take a look at Antique Electronics website. They have several small power transformers at not exhorbitant prices for these days.
