I most certainly would NOT bypass the low-pass filter. My guess - and it's
only a guess - is that the designers included it to meet FCC harmonic
suppression requirements. While I haven't run the numbers, it is likely that
the filter loss on 10 Meters isn't more than a watt or two - much less on
lower frequencies - so there's nothing to be gained by bypassing it.
