Jim,

I agree and use the 1N5408 when there is room. Sometimes there is an issue
when replacing PCB-mounted diodes. You may have to enlarge the through
holes a bit due to the larger diameter leads of the 1N5408 vs the IN4007.
A 1N5399 is 1KV @ 1.5A and is a good choice when a 1N5408 will not
physically fit. It is the same size as a 1N4007.
