Subject: [Heathkit] The Case of the Phantom Voltage

Fixing problems in old radios is a good exercise in deductive reasoning,
even if sometimes the clues don't lead in an expected direction.   That
was the case when I ran into a phantom voltage in an HW-12 recently - a
voltage that couldn't be there according to the schematic - yet there it
was!    Go here to get the whole story:

I think this is a very unique situation but since the same type of PC
boards were used in many other Heathkits and other radios, I thought it
would be worth passing along, just in case someone else comes up against
a similar mystery.
