HeathKit SS-9000 Transceiver and PS-9000 Power supply.
As the sands of time quickly flow through the hour glass of life for me. I have decided that it’s probably time I start parting with my amateur radio collection before I pass on. Also before the relatives just come in, and start tossing it in the dumpster because it has no value to them. We all face it sometime, or don’t deal with it.
First up I have decided to sell my Heathkit SS-9000 and matching PS-9000 power supply. I know the SS-9000 intimately, as I was Amateur radio product line manager at the Heathkit factory, during the development and production of this radio. The radio I have for sale is 1 of the less than 350 radio’s ever built. I bought this radio, right off the production floor, so that makes me the original owner.
These radios came with every accessory that was to be an option in the kit version. All SSB, CW wide, narrow filters, Remote band switch, computer control interface. The kit would have been too hard to assemble, so it was factory wired, with all accessory's.
I have documentation for the SS-9000, that you will never ever find anywhere else. I have the original bill of material parts description. It includes the parts, by part number, quantities, cost and part description. I have the original factory floor, final alignment procedures, along with test equipment list. I also have the original factory floor, standard test procedure manual.
I have the owners manual, complete service manual with fold out factory schematics and scope pictures, all in the SS-9000 color binder. Included is the Standard Heath microphone.
I have two copies of the original sales brochure, and a spare set of final amplifier transistors. Never had to change a part in this radio, except for the memory battery holders. I even have the original floppy SS-9000 demo disk. I also have a spare stepper motor assembly, I’ll include.
This radio has never been in any smoke environment and both the radio and speaker power supply dual clock are in excellent condition. You can see the SS-9000 in operation at this link, which has both video and still pictures of everything described above.[https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1T8r8KEhZUdJDivhhzyMvj8ggHcVRVcpC?usp=sharing](https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1T8r8KEhZUdJDivhhzyMvj8ggHcVRVcpC?usp=sharing)
It is a tough decision to sell this radio, but it is time. I’m asking $2800.00 firm plus shipping, or you can come pick it up. Speaking of shipping, I have the original SS-9000 shipping box. Sorry I don’t have the one for the power supply.
