[Heathkit] What plain text

Could someone please explain this plain text thing that is going on. Last night after I sent my message I got two responses that all they got was my header and no text. All I did was to copy from my word document and past it into my email. So does plain text mean no punctuation no  paragraph spacing no hyperlinks or what. I'm confused.

I did notice when the mailman did forward my message contained in the body where ever I had placed a comma it replace that with a question mark.

Please explain and maybe I can resent my information so everybody can read it.
