[Heathkit] How do I lay coaxial cable underground?

Mine is all RG8X and direct buried. No problems. I don't see any need for PVC tubing
as far as moisture and corrosion. I could see using it to prevent cuts if you think it might get exposed to a small shovel, but heavy shoveling can cut through most PVC too!

Use PVC, but go big in case (when) you change your mind. MOST of the
work/cost is digging the trench so spend the extra money and put 2-3"
PVC at least. At the low part of the run install a TEE with a bucket of
gravel installed below it to provide drainage. You'll never keep
moisture out of it completely so best to plan on draining it off.
I have about 100' installed in this way. No probs in 15 yrs (in NC)
