Sandy,

Is one of the little rubber drive rings associated with the preselector broken or slipping? Make sure both capacitors are in sync and moving together when the control is moved.

Subject: [Heathkit] SB-101 ALIGNMENT PROBLEM?

Hi, folks! My SB-101 has been off the about a year, and I'm doing a brief
alignment via my Manual. The Rx seems a bit deaf, which it wasn't when I
last ran it. Just reseated the tubes, cleaned the switches and the contacts
on both relays.

Now, before I begin tweaking the Drivet Grid and Plate Coils, i notice
something very suspicious - the Preselector doesn't PEAK at any setting. I
can hear the Calibrator signal all right, but it doesn't register on the
S-Meter at all like it used to (starting on 75M 3700 per the Manual).

Nothing in the "ICOD" pages on this. Suggestions, anyone?

Tnx, 73, Sandy AC1Y
