[Heathkit] GBO

Hi. I have a few GDOs in my collection, but no Heathkits. Back in the 60s, as a poor teen, I bought a Lafayette GDO. Still have it, still works. AC only.
I have 'heard' the Heathkit model that used a Tunnel Diode were problematic. I remember studying the TD in College, just as they were coming into use.
The TD had promise, but just never' took off'. Lots of Russian TDs around.
I see GDOs on ePay all the time. LOTS without coils! Sure, they would be simple to make, but.......
