List,
I would like to point out one thing regarding the "infamous" WD-40.
If you are using the same old WD-40 product, then understand that it has
no lubricating purpose as formulated.
The name simply stands for "Water Displacer" and the number is most
likely the 40th formula that came to be the one that did the job.
It is great for a lock on the shed or anywhere in the outdoors.
Kroil, PB Blaster, or Ballistol are designed specifically for
penetrating between two frozen/corrosion-bound or other stuck metal objects.
These three have become much more useful and perform better than the old
"Liquid Wrench 3-in-one Oil".
Although the old standby is probably on some EPA or ecological list of
one sort or another.
Just as is the no longer available, (at least I haven't found it
recently.), original Rustoleum Silver made with fishoil that really did
stop rust!
Regards, Bob - N0DGN
