The RX-1 Mohawk was also sold at the same time as the DX-100 / DX-100B transmitter that did have an 11-meter band.
Also, quite a number of other countries retained the 11-meter band for amateur radio operation after the FCC instigated the Class "D" Citizen's Radio Service. As such, the band remained as an amateur radio band for several years after the RX-1 was introduced. Glen, K9STH

Subject: Re: [Heathkit] RX-1/TX-1 Frequency Question
The RX-1 was designed and prototyped in 1957 when there was an 11 meter
band. The RX-1 also covered 160 meters and the TX-1 did not. The RX-1
also had dial markings for 6 and 2 meters. Most of this "why this" or
"why that" is covered in Chuck Penson's, Heathkit's Amateur Radio book.
