[Heathkit] Dry Transfer lettering

I used to use dry transfer lettering for all my projects. I got very
good at keeping the individual letters in a perfectly straight line so
that they looked almost printed. A little 'Workable Fixitif' spray
sealed the lettering and really made for a professional-looking panel.

Unfortunately, I also discovered a few years ago that Datak was no
longer around, and the few sheets of dry transfers//I still had in my
desk had become so dried-out that they would no longer stick to surfaces.

I don't like the aesthetics, but lately, I've been using my Brother
label maker with either white-on-clear or black-on-clear tape to make my
panel legends. As I said, it looks quite tacky compared to the
professional look of dry transfer lettering, but I didn't want to go the
route of setting up for laser-printed adhesive film overlays. You have
to have the software and a printer that will print exactly to scale, as
well as a supply of clear adhesive film overlay material. With all
this, you are still limited to a max panel size of 8-1/2" X 11" (or
whatever size your film is).

I too would appreciate a better way of labeling project panels. Anyone
have any ideas?
