[Heathkit] IM-2420 Freq Counter problem

Hi Sandy,

It sure sounds like one of the digital chips has turned south. Is this
counter built with LSI or does it have a separate IC for each decade?
Probably more than one for each decade? Is there a range switch? Does it
work okay on other ranges or is that digit always by the same amount? I
don't think your clock oscillator being off a little will cause this
problem.

Check for bad solder joints and/or solder bridges in among the forest of
pins. If the ICs are socketed try rocking them in their sockets to clear
oxidation.
